Try our Sauteed Pineapple Bacon Tidbits.  A simple appetizer for your pupu platter that can be made with many variations.

1 Pineapple skinned, cored and cut into large chunks

1 Pack Bacon, cut bacon into small strips

Brown Sugar and Black Pepper to taste

Toothpicks or Party Picks

On high heat, start bacon in a large skillet about one minute before adding pineapple.   After adding pineapple, sautee for another 5 minutes until bacon starts to break apart into small pieces and pineapple darkens slightly.  Stir frequently.  Add brown sugar and black pepper just before you are done if you like a little extra flavor.  Place pineapple pieces on a platter, top with bits of bacon and then stick toothpick into pineapple tops.  Easy and delicious.  If you want to make this vegan, use a substitute bacon product and put a little coconut oil in the pan before adding bacon product.   Unless you have a HUGE skillet, you will need to divide the batch in half and cook each separately.

Fresh pineapple chunks and bacon, a simple combo that everyone loves.

When it looks like a hot mess, its just about done.

Place pineapple on platter, top with bacon, poke with a fancy pick.
