Ohana: Luau at the lake.  Thats where we are taking you on this weeks podcast.  Join Sunshine and he mixes cocktails from the event competition submitted by Vince Martini and Bourbon Tiki.  We toss in plenty of music from Bamboo Saxotica, Thee Swank Bastards, Waitiki and Pablus.  It would be complete without live witness accounts of the shenanigans.  Thats why we spent time on the phone with our on location tikisneaks.  Vince Martini, Kelly "Velveteen Lounge Kitsch-en" Patterson and Miss Pahupahu join us LIVE from the event.  So go ahead and mix yourself a Wasabi Sour while you listen to the show.  Listener Vince Martini sent us this tasty libation which he just entered into the Ohana drink contest. Wasabi Sour

2 1/2 oz - Lemon Juice

2 oz - Lemon Hart 151

1 oz - Orange Juice

1 oz - Apricot Brandy

1/2 oz - Orgeat

5-6 sprigs of mint

1 inch of cucumber

Fresh Wasabi Rum infused gummy fruit

In shaker, add mint and cucumber (peeled, seeded and diced), along with lemon juice. Muddle ingredients until broken down. In separate mixing glass add a dime sized dollop of wasabi to a bar spoon and infuse into apricot brandy. When solution is dissolved into a nice yellow-green, add to shaker along with other ingredients. Shake vigorously and strain into double old-fashion with crushed ice and garnish with skewered gummy fruit. For gummy fruit, place several pieces of fruit in shallow plastic container and pour a layer of rum over candied fruits. Rum option is open, but for this recipe a lemon based rum is recommended. Let gummy fruit sauté and chill over night then skewer with toothpick prior to serving cocktail.
