SoCal Hibiscus Flower

In warm and sunny SoCal we always have an excuse to look for a refreshing cocktail. Not too sweet and not to boozy. SoCal Hibiscus uses rum made right here in Orange County, CA and has a beautiful sweet sugar cane and buttery aroma. The flavor is lightly sweet with a hint of burnt cane. We love SoCal silver rum. Also from SoCal is the hibiscus syrup in this cocktail from Simply Gala. Simply Gala has a great line of syrups and hibiscus was perfect for this libation. Combined with fresh lemon juice, elderflower liquor and homemade passion fruit syrup.

1.75 oz. SoCal Silver Rum

.25 oz. Elderflower Liquor

1.25 oz. fresh Lemon Juice

.5 oz. Simply Gala Hibiscus syrup

.5 oz. Passion Fruit syrup (also available from Simply Gala)

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake for a good 30 seconds for ample dilution which balances the sweet and citrus. Strain into a Collins glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with lemon peel painted with passion fruit pulp.
