This holiday was marked by green grass festooned with as many plastic pink flamingos as one could afford. All guests were guaranteed to be lei’d, many for the first time. Poorly made “cocktails” named the Pineapple Pussy and the Funky Debbie were downed without care. Shenanigans included spitting Bacardi 151 into a tiki torch and daring people to do somersaults down the street while not waking up the neighbors. All while Sunshines grandmother Nana Bones watched reruns of Matlock in her bedroom. It was the best of times.
