Agua Suja

All kidding aside, Brazil didn't live up to their end of the bargain when it came to preparing a world class experience for the Summer 2016 Olympic games.  Lets not dwell on Zika virus, sewage in the water and athlete dorms with no AC.  How about a nice cocktail?  Agua Suja may translate to dirty water but the aroma will dispel any rumors of unclean imbibing.  Cachaça along with creme de cassis and fresh orange and mint are a lovely combination that is light and so sipable on the hottest of South American days.

  • 1.5 ounces Cachaça
  • 1 ounce Creme de Cassis
  • 3 ounces Passion Fruit Juice
  • 1 tsp Raw Sugar
  • 1 large Orange twist
  • 3-5 large Mint leaves

In a mixing glass, add orange and mint.  Muddle or smash with the back of a spoon.  Add all other ingredients with 1 cup crushed ice and shaker very well.  Pour unstrained into a double rocks glass.  Garnish with more mint and orange peel.
