346 Don't Let Obama Take Our Rum

Admittedly the first third of this podcast was lost to technical difficulty.  Sunshine and Starshine were in the lounge and had a wonderful time drinking the Forbidden Atoll while describing the ingredients and breaking down the flavors.  And we lost it.  So we recorded it again but at a different place and time.  Use this link for the recipe to this tantalizing cocktail, the Forbidden Atoll.

Multiple rums combined with coconut and pineapple juice are just the start to the forbidden atoll.  follow the recipe carefully or you won't remember your way back home.

We never quit.  Sunshine and Starshine spent some quality time at the casino over the weekend.  Our handy laptop in hand, we recorded the intro to this show for a second time.  The audio is not studio quality but you will get the picture.  While at the casino we had the chance to eat inappropriate foods in bed such as chili cheese nacho fries with extra tomato and onion.  As you can see in the picture, Pink's really knows how to make a late night snack to sooth your tummy.

In between glass of champagne and multiple cocktails we listened to lots of Mr. Ho's Orchestrotica.  In an ideal world our favorite casino lounges would play great Esquivel more regularly.  We had to settle for the boombox in our hotel room while mixing up rum drinks and shimmying around the penthouse suite.  The quintet version of the band is touring the California area this February and we have details on this episode.  Click HERE to get your tickets and get the albums. Listen to the podcast for music by Mr. Ho as well as plenty more music by Esquivel, Martin Denny and more.

More music!  Yes!  We came across this album by Jim Fiegan via the Quiet Village Podcast.  If you haven't already become of fan of the Quiet Village Podcast be sure to start there for the best in exotica and lounge.  Upon downloading and listening to the Tiki Blues album by Jim Fiegan we knew this would be on our dark and moody tiki bar play list.  Sunshine senses some electronic 80's inspiration on a few tracks.  Maybe even a hint of old Depeche Mode B sides.  Listen to the show to here the title track Tiki Blues as well as Modal Luau.  Enjoy the tunes.
